Exquisite Hand Bound Leather Embossed Book
Lee Ann Frame Instructor
The two day workshop will begin with your own design that is carved then
embossed into a goatskin leather. A multiple signature text block, sewn
in a French style, will be bound into the hand colored leather cover.
All materials are supplied however, a supply list (see below) will be
sent when you register for those who may have their own tools.
Cost is $125.
Saturday, November 19 from 10:30-4:00 and Sunday noon to 4:00
Held at Muskegon Community College’s Art Building

Source material and ideas for cover design which will measure roughly 6”
in height by 8.5” (front and back plus spine)
Bone folder
Scissors
Glue brush (medium size)
X-acto knife or Scalpel
Sharp Blades
Metal ruler (12 inches)
Cutting mat
Pencil
Paint brushes (assorted small to medium for acrylic)
Wood or Linocut tools (v-gouges, etc.)
Clean sponge
Several small rags
Butter knife or letter opener
2 clamps (either the Quick-Grip kind or C-clamps with 2” opening)
Hair dryer
Optional Supplies include the following:
Small book weights
Teflon bone folder
Needle-nose pliers

Painting and Drawing Classes with Rob Michmerhuizen
Rob Michmerhuizen has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and for over 30
years has offered professional instruction in drawing and painting. Each
class meets weekly and is limited to five students. Study consists of
still life, landscape and figures in charcoal, graphite and acrylic
paints. Drawing supplies are furnished. The weekly rate is $20.00 per
student for each two hour lesson. Individual help in a pleasant,
informal atmosphere. Beginners are welcome. For further information call
