Artist’s Biography
Art And Glass Experience:
Full-time Artist and Glass Professional 1999 to present
Glass work part-time 1982 – 1999
Steve’s interest in glass began in 1982. For 17 years, he made stained glass his hobby.
After entering and winning regional stained glass competitons, his reputation as a stained glass artist grew.
In 1999, he pursued his passion for glass full time. His hobby then became the study of fine art. This led him
to discover techniques where he has combined fine art with glass.
He calls this new form of art a GlasScape TM. A GlasScape uses glass and the concepts of
two-dimensional landscape art. Steve works out the ideas of his image for his landscapes in other mediums,
such as pastels or charcoal, to refine the composition, color and color values. Then using glass as his canvas,
Steve applies additional layers of glass with tools he has made and kiln fires the glass many times creating
layers of glass and texture to the art. This is how Steve’s passion for glass and his vision for art becomes the
finished dimensional fused glass landscape known as a GlasScape TM.
