"Postcards" - images of West Michigan and beyond -
September 30 through October 29
Opening reception - Friday, October 1.
The participating artists in this show are Carol Cousineau, Carol
Bauer Schmidt, Deborah Bowen, Brad Patterson, Virginia Baker Kunst,
Anne Kramer, Colleen Rockey and Wanda Anderson.
Carol Cousineau’s oil pastel paintings are depictions of the beauty
that surrounds her, which she finds “in a quiet stream, a local
field, or a simple cottage”. Carol Brauer-Schmidt ‘s oil pastel
paintings show her love of color, form and texture and “sometimes a
little whimsy”. Deborah Bowen’s oil paintings are colorful,
beautiful interpretations of sunsets, lakes, flowers and woodlands.
Brad Patterson uses colors, patterns and shapes from nature to form
his sculptural and functional pottery. Virginia Baker Kunst combines
her oil pastel work with ink resist and creates paintings derived
from the rich imagery of her imagination and interior world. Anne
Kramer and Colleen Rockey use water based mediums to create their
paintings. Wanda
Anderson’s “Vanishing Visions” series was inspired by the ancient
petroglyphs created by Native Americans in the Sedona, AZ area.
"Postcards" - images of West Michigan and beyond, will
be on exhibit in the Walburg Gallery of the Gallery Uptown from
September 30 through October 29. The opening reception for the show
will be on Friday, October 1. Informative talks by the artists will
begin at 7pm. All are invited to attend.
