Trunk Show at the Gallery this weekend, New Photography and Fiber Show
Artists in shows and community art happenings
The Gallery Uptown presents: "Wear Art" a Trunk Show of wearable art
by Barbara Fugazzotto, G.G. Havens, Helen Percy Lystra and Annie Morgan

Opening Reception Friday, July 29 -  5:30pm to 8pm
The show continues on Saturday and Sunday, July 30 and 31.
Gallery hours are: Friday 10-8, Saturday 10-6 and Sunday 12-4

Barbara Fugazzotto alters the surface of fabrics with paint and dye and stitches other fabrics to the surface. Sewing lines are a "drawing" element on these "fabric collages to wear." You'll want to see her new designs in jackets and scarves.  G. G. Havens has been flameworking glass for the last 12 years. G. G. was one of only 25 selected glass artists to take a 4-day intensive Master Glass Bead Making class in Milwaukee last June. Her new works of scarf and shawl pins will be available at the Wear Art Show.
Helen Percy Lystra works with paper and fabric, often combining them to create small collages that become pins and necklaces. She's also been experimenting with Steampunk and will have a few pieces of these in the exhibit.  Annie Morgan is a metalsmith and jewelry designer by trade. Many times she uses found objects, heirlooms, fabricated metal and an array of non-traditional items to create her jewelry. She weaves a certain intimacy into her art that encourages discovery, disclosure and revelation.
