Lee Ann Frame

Artist’s Statement
My heart and mind must be integrated when I create. It is a way of thinking, believing, and responding that allows an opening to explore concepts like absence, imperfection, and emptiness. Through this opening beauty, love, and perspective enter. I intuitively turn to the rhythm of landscape–reflections and patterns–gathering images and emotional impressions. Once the first mark is made, I am collaborating with the process, allowing the concept and surface to evolve. I experiment with traditional printmaking techniques. Layers, surface texture, and outcome can hold unpredicted surprises, irregularity, and imperfections–like life. The residue of memory, imagination, and emotion nurtures my art.
