Catherine is a well-known and much accredited illustrative artist whose extremely detailed watercolor paintings depict birds, flowers and other nature scenes. Her paintings require hours of research, careful drawings of her subjects, and layer upon layer of watercolor glazes to achieve the luminous depth and precise detail portrayed in each.

Growing up in Toronto, Canada, Catherine was always fascinated by arts, crafts, and nature. As a teenager, she and her family moved to the United States where she became a naturalized citizen and later graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science degree. Her first paintings, while she was a mom and substitute teacher, were birds painted on weathered barnwood. People loved these barnwood originals and bought them as soon as they were displayed. After a couple of years Catherine's work evolved into painting birds in their natural habitat on watercolor paper. Her work today is much sought after and collected.

She has produced signed and numbered limited edition prints – over 80 so far and is now also producing giclee prints. She designed a series of collector plates for Lenox China as well as four different dinnerware patterns.

Catherine's work is frequently honored and has been displayed in many shows and can be found in several galleries. She has illustrated bookcovers, state bird posters, calendars, notecards, wrapping paper, cross stitch patterns and a children's book about the migration of a hummingbird. She has been selected for the prestigious Leigh Yawkey Woodson Museum's Birds in Art Exhibition and was featured artist of the Michigan Wildlife Art festival. She was also invited to create a bird ornament for the 2002 White House Christmas tree and because of this was featured with eight other artists in an HGTV special, "Modern Masters: White House Artisans".

Although her work appears in homes and museums across the country and beyond, Catherine needs only to gaze out the windows of her home on Spring Lake or walk the surrounding land to find the subject matter for her exquisite paintings.
