Ann
Trowbridge
My paintings show how much I love our Michigan landscape. It
is the amazing colors and textures that excite me. The
challenge is trying to paint these and the way sunlight
falls on the landscape, waterscape, flowers, and still-life.
I am drawn back to favorite places to see how they look at
different times of day and in different seasons. The colors
of our sand or snow can go from subtle whispers to
spectacular bold shadows. I appreciate where I live and try
to show it in my work. Watercolor and pastel are my favorite
mediums.
My formal fine arts background was at Aquinas College, GRCC,
and Kendall. Later I studied with various watercolor and
pastel artists in workshops and classes.
